Dr. Adesman is Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is Chief of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in New Hyde Park. In addition to Board certification in Pediatrics, Dr. Adesman is Board certified in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and also Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics.
Education & Training: Dr. Adesman received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his Residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He also completed a Fellowship in Child Development and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Publications: Dr. Adesman is co-author of the book, Parenting Your Adopted Child: A Positive Approach to Building a Strong Family. In addition, Dr. Adesman has authored many research and review articles on developmental disorders in children. He is presently working on a sequel to BabyFacts that will focus on pediatric myths in school-age children.
Professional Recognition: Since 1999, Dr. Adesman has consistently been included in the Castle Connelly Guide on How To Find the Best Doctors: New York Metro Area, and has also repeatedly been recognized by NY Magazine as one of the Best Doctors in New York.
Personal: Dr. Adesman is married and has three teenage children. As he notes in the dedication and acknowledgment, his children have taught him the things he did not already know as a pediatrician, helped make him look good as a father, and most recently, kept him grounded each and every day - in ways that only teenagers can!
